SSC MTS recruitment 2023: Eligibility criteria
A candidate is required to be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or Bhutan, or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Burma, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi, or Vietnam.
A candidate who is between the ages of 18 and 25 can apply for the job. Or, in simple words, who were born before January 2, 1998, and not later than January 1, 2005. The age limit for another post is 18 to 27 years for a candidate born before January 2, 1996, and not later than January 1, 2005.
Age limit for Havaldar
A candidate who is applying for the Havaldar post in CBIC and CBN should be at least 18 years of age. Also, one should not exceed 27 years of age. In simple words, a candidate who was born before January 2, 1996, and not later than January 1, 2005, can apply for this post.
According to government rules, there is also age relaxation for different categories. For SC/ST, it is 5 years; for OBC, it is 3 years; for PwD (unreserved): 10 years; for PwD (OBC): 13 years; and for PwD (S/ST): 15 years.
Educational Qualification
A candidate must have passed the 10th grade or equivalent exam from a recognized board. If a candidate doesn’t pass 10th grade before the closing date of the application, he or she will not get the job.
SSC MTS recruitment 2023: Selection process
There is a two-stage process that a person has to follow.
- SSC MTS Paper 1: Written Test
- PET and PST (only for Havaldar)
This year, the exam will consist of two papers: paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 is conducted online, while Paper 2 is a written examination.
SSC MTS Paper 1 will have four sections. In these sections, there will be a computer-based exam divided into two sessions. The duration of the SSC MTS exam will be 90 minutes for general category students and 120 minutes for PwD candidates. In session one, there will be 40 MCQ questions, each carrying a value of 4 points. For any wrong answer, one point will be deducted; however, in session 2, there will be no negative marking.
