GATE Notification 2024
As per the GATE notification 2024, registration for the entrance exam is open from August 24 to September 29 as the registration form will be available on Bangalore IISc’s official website. Candidates who miss the initial deadline can still register until October 13 with a late fee.
The GATE 2024 entrance exam dates are set for February 3, 4, 10, & 11, 2024. The exam timings for GATE 2024 are usually in two sessions: Forenoon (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM) and Afternoon (3:00 PM to 6:00 PM), varying based on the subject.
All the GATE exams will be held in centers within India. This year, the exam covers 30 papers, up from 29. This is because a fresh paper in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence has been introduced to keep up with the latest advancement in technology. This will bring the candidates more opportunities. Candidates need to pay a GATE exam fee of Rs 1800/- for 2024, which is increased from the previous fee of Rs 1700/-.

The process of registration for GATE 2024
Registering for GATE 2024 is a straightforward process. You will need to have a device with an internet connection for the process. Here, we simplify the process of filling out your application form for GATE 2024.
Step 1:
Begin by visiting the official GATE GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) website at gate2024.iisc.ac.in
Step 2:
Once you’re on the GOAPS website, you will be on the homepage. Fill in all the required fields. This includes personal details, academic background, and more.
Step 3:
After providing your information, a unique Registration ID will be generated just for you. Along with it, set up a password that you’ll remember for future use.
Step 4:
Log back into the GOAPS website with your Registration ID and password.
Step 5:
Scan your photograph, signature, and essential documents and upload them on the website. Make sure they’re clear and accurate.
Step 6:
After you have done uploading hit the “Save and Submit” button.

THE GATE 2024 Paper format
The GATE 2024 Paper is organized into two main sections: General Aptitude (GA) and the Candidate’s Selected Subject(s). THE GATE 2024 Marking scheme
In the GATE 2024 exam, questions are assigned either 1 mark or 2 marks
- For Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), an incorrect answer will lead to negative marking.
- For a 1-mark MCQ, a 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- For a 2-mark MCQ, a 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
However, there will be no negative marking for Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
